This beach is on the east side of the Newport-Avalon Channel. This 30 acre beach was established in 1947 and is a protected beach in the California state park system. It is run by the city of Newport Beach.
There is a large fee parking lot here and also free street parking. The street parking is above the beach near the little viewing park, Inspiration Point.
There are beach volleyball nets, fire pits, restrooms, and a cafe at this very popular beach.
At the east end of the parking lot, a quick climb over the large rock formation, and you can be at the calm waters of Pirates Cove Beach.
